With a long experience with embryo transfer in horses, we were faced with some very valuable horses which we were not able to create offspring with currently available reproductions techniques.
Many clients often asked whether there were other options such as ICSI, which is frequently used in the cattle. This was for us a very understandable question, and we have studied what was already possible in this area. The scientific publications on this subject at that time were very limited. The only option left was to independently develop these new techniques.
After years of intensive collaboration with several universities around the world, but the most intensive collaboration with Maastricht University Medical Centre, we managed to enable ICSI in horses.
We are very proud that the first ICSI foals will be born in 2015.
